XFE Cage Wars
Featured fighter: Roy Kofroth
This weeks feature fighter made his XFE debut earlier this year and will make his return this Saturday December 7th at Harrah’s Philadelphia. Amateur 185lb fighter Roy Kofroth will be facing off at XFE 31 against debut fighter Paul Turner.
XFE: Were you involved in wrestling or any other sport before becoming involved in MMA?
Paul: I wrestled for a year in high school along with five years of football, then I just randomly wanted to learn as many different styles of martial arts to pass the time. My dad taught karate my entire life so I had a good starting point.
XFE: What is the easiest and hardest part of preparing for a fight?
Paul: The easiest part is expecting the fight . The hardest would be the mental preparation for me but still focusing on my family work and all the other things life throws at me. Focusing on fighting is a whole different mindset.
XFE: With two young children and working a full time job, what does a normal week of training include for you?
Paul: After work I sit in traffic for at least 2 hours thinking about the time I’m missing with my family. Then I focus on training for the next hour and a half, then I drive home hoping to see my boys and wife before they go to bed. I get up on Saturday mornings and also train, missing time with my family.
XFE: If given the opportunity to train with anyone anywhere, who would it be and why?
Paul: I honestly would have to say I am happy with the team I am currently training with now, Martinez BJJ. I have been to other places, big name gyms in other states and it’s all what you put into it is what you will receive from it. It’s a great place with talented fighters of all the way around .
XFE: As you approach your next fight at XFE 31, what is your fight prediction?
Paul: Of course everyone wants to win. I’m just going to do what I have to do to achieve that goal.
XFE: Where do you see your MMA career in 4 years?
Paul: It’s hard to say well I will be in 4 years, I can’t predict the future I just have to take it day by day and hope for the best.
XFE: Anything else you would like your fans to know about you?
Paul: If you have the opportunity to do something, take the opportunity. You may never get the chance ever again. Things in life aren’t easy….how you choose to deal with them will determine the outcome of it all.
