XFC President John Prisco
discusses how tough it will be for any
Ex-UFC or Strikeforce fighter
to hang at the XFC’s level.

“When you look at the big picture, only the XFC, UFC, & Bellator travel to do shows. It’s tough to pack the houses when you are in a different city all the time, but we’re doing it. That alone shows you how much we have grown in the past few years.” said XFC President John Prisco. “Our Open Fighter tryouts just drew over 200 fighters from around the World, looking to fight in the XFC live on national television. One guy took home the 5 fight contract and that was Bantamweight Jeremiah Labiano.”

When asked about signing ex-fighters from other top ranked promotions to a multi-fight deal, Prisco had this to say, “I don’t give a sh** if you’ve fought for UFC or Strikeforce, you need to beat my guys and my guys are f****** animals.   I could care less if you’ve had a UFC contract in the past, that’s the UFC’s problem. My guys are now your problem! The UFC does not have the best talent in the industry, I’ve said this for years…..”

  1. Well said, I agree 110%! The UFC isn’t about showcasing the best fighters anymore, they just want the guys who can sell tickets. I understand as a promotion company there needs to be a balance, but they have lost the basic promotion fundamental of matching bouts with fighters who have earned the opportunity to be in the cage by beating other fighters. The tactic they rely on now is to matchup the fighters who talk the most shit, who create the biggest buzz with their mouths, and not with their actions in the cage!

The XFC is a great promotion that understands the level of integrity that must exist in matchmaking and giving appropriate earned opportunities to fighters!
