XFC Adds Angela Magana To Strawweight Division
Riding high off of one of the biggest shows in the history of the promotion, where one armed phenom Notorious Nick Newell was crowned the XFC Lightweight Champion and Stephanie Eggink established herself at the top of the Women’s Strawweight Division, the Xtreme Fighting Championships has made several big announcements about their 2013 future at hand. The promotion will be adding several females and males to their growing roster, opening up the Women’s Atomweight and Men’s Flyweight divisions, and looking to establish title runs throughout the various ranks. Also announced are plans for their Open Fighter Tryouts and their first two shows of 2013. The promotion which is growing leaps and bounds in front of the World to see, made the first of many new signee announcements early this morning. Female Strawweight, MMA veteran, Angela Magana has signed a multi-fight, long term contract with the rising promotion.
Angela Magana (born 2 August, 1982) is an American professional women’s MMA fighter out of New Mexico. The well rounded 29 years old, 5’4″ female fighter joins a very powerful XFC Women’s Strawweight (115 pound) division along side top contenders Stephanie Eggink and Heather Jo Clark. With notable wins over Tia Castillo, Jessica Aguilar, Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc, Van Do, Stephanie Palmer, and Meghan Wright, fans has seen Magana put on great shows and prove she is never afraid of a tough fight.
Now, with the opportunity to be showcased on one of the Worlds most popular MMA networks (AXStv), fans can expect to see Magana take on even stronger opponents live on national television, from inside the XFC cage. As the promotion begins to lay out its future title runs in the Women’s divisions, XFC President John Prisco made it known that Magana is ready for the toughest tests of her career. “Angela Magana was one of the most talented free agents in the industry. She’s had some very tough fights already and has a descent record to show for it. There was no way we were going to hold off on signing someone as talented as her to the XFC. As we are building our female divisions throughout 2013, I can see Angela becoming one of the fighters that everyone tries to call out. However, anyone who steps into the cage with her is going to have a tough time getting a win. She loves to stand and throw, and has a solid ground game, just the type of well rounded fighter we are looking for. She’s a great addition to our Women’s division and I can’t wait to see her step up to the XFC’s level of talent!” said Prisco.
