Why I’m a Fan of MMA

MMA is the ultimate sport. It’s one of the only sports that utilizes every element of athleticism speed, strength, agility, stamina, and sheer power. Combining these aspects with ancient marital arts and self-defense techniques suddenly transforms a mere fight into the most disciplined sport known to man. I’m a major fan of mixed martial arts. Judo, Muay Thai, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, boxing, submission holds, and intense takedowns how can you not fall in love with this sport. MMA has everything for everyone. It’s a true art form showcasing brain power and brawn through technique that’s why I’m a fan of MMA. I never miss a match!

There are any number of trite and cliche things to say in the hope of encapsulating what MMA is or has now become. Any number of those would be sufficient to explain why I’m a fan.
Truly if you were to boil it down to one thing it would have to be the passion this sport inspires. It draws people in. If it’s not the thrill of seeing two men go all out in competition, it’s the skill and dedication on display. You can’t touch this sport with out becoming passionate, even addicted. I have seen every walk of life and every age represented at local and national events. There has to be something to a sport that can inspire everyone from little kids to my 60 year old plus Grandma.

Why do I want to write for this site?….
Its a new site, A new perspective….with new possibilites.
I love this sport, its so much more than Boxing ever could be, and its progressing at such a rate that it will leave everything else behind…that said, why do I want to write..to bring a different veiw point…different perspective…different ideas.
I think to be a part of something I really enjoy, to be part of something different, by allowing readers to be a part of the writing on this site, this site will have a wide range of opions and veiws of the subjects…instead of visting a dozen different sites to gain the same persective (as I do everyday) of a single subject or idea. I think it is a great idea, and would really enjoy watching and being a part of it.

Why am I a fan of MMA?

Everything about it: The dedication it takes, the skill level to become a well-rounded fighter, presenting real fighting to people and also because it’s relatively new and is yet to be hit by the shit storm of backstage politics (ala boxing). Don’t get we wrong I love boxing, it’s an amazing sport, but it’s nothing like watching two guys punch, kick, slam and try to submit each other. As stated earlier, ” It’s the ultimate sport.”

I myself trained in BJJ and Muay Thai and feel I can write from a, somewhat, experienced perspective (i.e. someone who has been repeatedly leg kicked, Cecil Peoples). It doesn’t hurt that I watch any fight be it from UFC, Bellator or Dream.
    Did I mention I love K1?
