WHAT TO FEAR ABOUT ZACH FEARS
On September 28, undefeated lightweight fighter, Zach Fears (7-0), will be making his V3Fights’ debut. Fears will enter this fight with a lot of hype surrounding him. He hails from Poplar Bluff, MO and fights out of The Fighter’s Gym.
Fears got started in MMA when he was in high school. He was on the wrestling team and at the end of his senior year he began training with a few guys. He took a fight after training for four or five months and was victorious. After graduation, he moved off to college and wrestled for four years at Missouri Baptist University where he was a three time national qualifier.
After college, he moved back to Poplar Bluff and picked up right where he left off competing and training. Only now, he had four years of college wrestling to add to his resume, which makes him even more dangerous.
On September 28, Fears will face V3 veteran, Mark Jones. When asked about his upcoming fight with Jones, here is what Fears had to say: “I have seen a video of his fight that he had with V3 and I think that he is a descent amateur. However, I think I can win the fight no matter where it goes. I see a second round stoppage. I’m excited to be on V3’s card and unveiling my skills to the mid-south.” The hype surrounding Fears is so big right now, that here is what others are saying about him:
“Fears pretty much beats his opponent at their own game. If he fights a striker, he will knock them out. If he fights a submission guy, he will submit them. If he fights a wrestler, he will throw them on their head over and over again. If Fears was a professional, then he would be top ten in the world, but he is a perfectionist and is trying to perfect every part of his game before turning pro.” – Jake Underwood (Pro MMA fighter and coach)
“Zack Fears is the best 55er that no one knows about. I like Mark Jones a lot, but this was an extremely bad matchup for him to take.” – Matt Weibel (V3Fights’ veteran)
“Every time I train with Zach, I always go into the gym prepared to give him 120% because I feel that is what it takes to train with him. He has a tenacious style of fighting that is one of the best that I have ever seen. I personally can’t wait to watch him destroy Mark Jones.” – Jaleel Willis (V3Fights’ Lightweight Champion)
