V3FIGHTS: DYNAMITE READY TO SHOW THE ‘LEGION’ THE NEW NICK DAVIS
Nick Davis will return to the V3 cage on April 6 at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN. The last time Davis fought for the promotion, was back in June of 2012, when he and then champion, “Jesse” James Wallace, put on a five round grappling war for the featherweight title. Davis lost that bout, but definitely left an impression with the V3 “Legion” and they cannot wait to see him back in action.
A lot has changed for Davis since his last time in the cage. He has now moved to Memphis to pursue his MMA career full time and on April 6 a new Nick Davis will enter the cage. Davis states….
“I started training back in 09’ with the Underwoods (Jake and Zack) at the original ‘Team Relentless’ in Union City, TN. I remember having a fight coming up with a jiu-jitsu guy and Jake invited me to show me some arm bar defenses and I was blown away. The level of training there was so much higher than what I was used to, so although the drive was a little over an hour away, I knew I had to do it if I wanted to move forward in the sport. When the Underwoods moved to Milwaukee, I started training with Jason Turnage 1-2 times a week (in Memphis) and again was blown away. I saw major improvements in my game and even had a pretty good fight with the champ at the time, “Jesse” James Wallace. When I found out that Turnage was going to start teaching at Team Pincer with the Underwoods, it was a no brainer where I wanted to go. Training has been unreal since I moved to Memphis. I get to train with professional fighters, high level bjj guys, and am surrounded by positivity.”
On April 6, Davis will square off against Wes Sharp. Davis knows that Sharp is coming off of a quick loss (in his title fight with Tyler Hill) and will be hungry. However, Davis is also confident that his hand will be raised at the end of the fight.
Davis would like to thank his sponsors: IronJaw Mouthguards & Game Changer Clothing out of Memphis. Ink industries, Studio A Custom Airbrush and Graphic, and WellFit Medicine and Nutrition out of Jackson TN. Goodwings and Earps Paint & Body out of Camden TN!
