Sean Sherk Stripped Of UFC Belt

It was confirmed by the California State Athletic Commission that Sean Sherk was suspended for steroids prompting the UFC to take away his lightweight title belt, according to reports published on Saturday. Sherk tested positive for nandrolone following his title defense over Hermes Franca on July 7. He was suspended for one year and fined $2500. Recently on Dec. 4 the commission voted to reduce his suspension to six months.

Although Sherk was critical of the UFC for making the interim title bout, he will now have to sit on the sidelines and watch as Penn and Stevenson now battle for the UFC lightweight title. A mistake I am sure he now regrets.
