New RUFF Championship Format
In the past, RUFF fans have seen The Ranik Ultimate Fighting Federation do their championship fights a bit differently. RUFF will be stepping away from their old championship format that culminated in the RUFF Super Fight to a more traditional format where championship belts will be defended on a regular basis.
Through out the next year RUFF will be putting on championship fights in the Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight, and Lightweight divisions to see who will be the RUFF and China National MMA champions moving forward under this format. The first belt up for grabs will be one of the most stacked divisions in the RUFF promotion, the Bantamweight division. At RUFF 14 Azamat Gashimov who is coming off a three round domination of top contender Lv Zhenhong will be fighting for the Bantamweight belt against an opponent to be decided after the RUFF FU event on June 7 in Shanghai, China.
At RUFF FU there is three important Bantamweight fights showcased on the main card. In the main event Song Yadong (3-0-0-1NC) will be facing Zhao Yafei (4-3). Lv Zhenhong (7-3) will go up against He Jianwei (8-2) and in the opening fight of the main card Alateng Heili (4-1) will be stepping into the cage with Baasankhuu Damlanpurev (7-1). “After RUFF FU we will decide who will face Azamat Gashimov for the Bantamweight Championship based on the Bantamweights performances on June 7th” explains RUFF Director of Talents and Matchmaking, Brandon Resnick. All of the Bantamweights fighting at RUFF FU have shown great performances in the past and have proven they are the best fighters in China in the Bantamweight division. “RUFF 14 will be our biggest event to date, with RUFF FU leading perfectly into the championship fight at RUFF 14. Look out for other huge news in the coming weeks” says RUFF CEO Joel Resnick.
