Lee Kil-Woo’s long-awaited Bantamweight Title Defence against top bantamweight fighter Lee Yoon-Jun started exactly as expected, with Kil-Woo’s powerful boxing and Yoon-Jun’s amazing kicks going full out against each other. In just 3:40 of the first round, Yoon-Jun’s head kick ended Kil-Woo’s reign, making Lee Yoon-Jun the new ROAD FC Bantamweight Champion.

New Bantamweight Champion Lee Yoon-Jun said:

“Finally, I am the Champion. During my fighter’s life, I’ve won and lost, cried and smiled; every experience has made me who I am. I think no one is forever a champion. I want to keep going and get better each fight. Thanks for everyone who has helped me.”

Former Champion Lee Kil-Woo said:

“Yoon-Jun! Congratulations. From now on, do your best. Until I come back, don’t lose.”

In the Co-Main Event, superstar Song Ga-Yeon took her second MMA fight against much more experienced Satomi Takano. Superstar comedienne Lee Guk-Ju of Saturday Night Live fame was the special guest Round Girl. Song looked to use her striking right away, but the smaller Takano, a BJJ purple belt, took her down and controlled Song on the ground, eventually making her tap out to a Kimura.

Moon Jea-Hoon and Kim Min-Woo put on a kicking war for three rounds. Kim carried the first round and Moon the second, so a third gave fans an insane amount of action. Moon’s more frequent work handed him the judges’ Majority Decision.

Highly-touted Park Hyung-Guen didn’t want to earn a decision win because of Han Yi-Moon’s -2 penalty points for not making weight. Park hurt Han in the first with a kick to the body, and dropped him with a gruesome left hook in the second round.

ROAD FC Commentator Kyler Kim Dae-Hwan made a stunning and successful first fight in ROAD FC by opening up the Main Card with a quick and devasting knock out of Douglas Kobayashi.

YOUNG GUNS 019

Shooto Champion Mikihito Yamagami and Yoo Jae-Nam were the Main Event for Young Guns 019 and the two strong strikers did not disappoint. They knocked each other down repeatedly. It was a very close and thrilling fight and Yoo won the Unanimous Decision because of his aggression and takedowns.

Stand out amateur fighter Kim Ji-Hyeong finally made his professional debut against BJJ purple belt Cho Young-Seung. Kim had Cho backed up early and used his Greco Roman wrestling well, but it was Cho who would be victorious with a right hand KO.

Popular fighters Kim Yi-Sak and Park Choon-Il faced each other with a huge rally of support from the audience. Kim’s greater experience showed through as he was able to damage North Korea escapee Park with strikes and end the fight with pounding from mount.

Jeong Jun-Hoe and Jung Jin-Suk put in a back and forth two rounds that included knockdowns and submission attempts. Jeong’s control in all areas won him the Unanimous Decision.

Choi Mu-Song and Crying Fist Season 2 winner Kim Dae-Myung went at each other nonstop with striking and takedown attempts. Choi showcased the strength of Korean martial art Chun Moon Kwan with powerful punches and knees which won him the Unanimous Decision.

Mongolian fan favorite Nandin Erdene used his kicks and knees to TKO Ahn Jun-Yeong in the first round.

Lee Sang-Hyun and Ki Won-Bin opened up the Young Guns 019 with aggressive punching and knocked each other down. Lee’s grappling prowess saved him after Ki’s takedowns, and Lee ended up finishing Central League winner Ki with pounding.
