Rising Amateur Title Holder Cortney Casey signs long term with XFC, turning Pro
Rising Amateur Title Holder
Cortney Casey to make Pro Debut
XFC President John Prisco has already announced his plans to increase the number of Women’s bouts featured on their nationally televised events throughout 2013 and beyond. Following the addition of Angela Magana, Angelica Chavez, and Pearl Gonzalez in the closing weeks of 2012, the promotion announced this morning that Cortney “Cast Iron” Casey will also join the roster after completion of her final amateur fight.
Casey, a highly touted Mesa, AZ amateur who has been competing in MMA since the summer of 2011, currently holds a (6-1) record. Three of those victories submissions, coming by way of armbar. The Freak Animal Fitness product has a fan favorite aggressive style and has been proven to push the pace in her bouts; a style which has helped her overwhelm her opponents sending her on a now 5 fight win steak.
Casey is currently a title holder for Las Vegas based amateur promotion, Tuff-N-Uff, as well as the owner of a Coalition of Combat amateur title. She will continue with her plans to compete in one final amateur bout before the XFC will discuss possible opponents or fight schedulings, but her Pro debut is estimated for mid 2013. Will an XFC Women’s Championship be next for this 25 year old rising star? Only time will tell.
