R.I.P. Pride FC

I will never forget the first time I ever watched a Pride FC event. I was completely blown away by the Japanese organizations mixed martial arts production.I had seen the UFC before but this was something else. This was years ahead of anything I had ever seen before in mma. I could not believe the amount of effort they put into their production. It looked like the future of mixed marital arts was here.First of all Bas Rutten was a commentator and nobody does it better than Bas. He was often joined by the “fight professor” Steven Quatros and together they were unstoppable. They had me in stitches almost every event. I don’t think there will ever be a better duo of commentators in the sport. Eventually Mauro Ranallo came along who was almost as good and at times funny.
