It’s a great week for Oregon fight fans! We are finally here in April, and kicking things off is a fantastic weekend of mixed martial arts events, that’s right – plural!
Last week we took a closer look at the Full Contact Fighting Federation’s Rumble at the Roseland 77 taking place in Portland, OR. This week though, we are previewing an amazing promotion doing great things for Oregon MMA, and for the athletic programs around the state.
Knucklehead Fight Promotions has made a name for their promotion by putting together top-notch Pro/Am events, treating their athletes with the utmost respect, and giving back to the community that has made Oregon such an MMA hotbed since the inception of the sport.
Knucklehead 8 will be no different as this event takes place in Dallas, OR as a fundraiser event for the Dallas High School wrestling program.
Not content just to fight for a good cause, Knucklehead wants the fans to be fully entertained with some of the best athletes from around the region. In the main event, there will be a professional featherweight showdown with the Knucklehead Featherweight Title on the line as Shorty Weikel and Denny Linton will look to strap that belt around their waist.
Also on the card is a co-main event with two dangerous amateur welterweights with Scott Baker facing Hadi Al Wadah with the Knucklehead Welterweight title up for grabs. Both of these fighters are well rounded veterans of the local mixed martial arts circuit, and looking to take the next step up in competition by getting a title on Saturday night.
There is plenty of undercard action for this event as well, so don’t miss out this weekend on this great card going to a great cause. The doors open at 6pm this Saturday at the Dallas High School, with fights starting at 7pm. Make sure and get on the Knucklehead Facebook page for more on ticket information and details on upcoming events.
The pacific northwest continues to have some of the best promotions for up and coming amateur talent as well as professional matches from some of the toughest fighters from around the region and beyond.
Here is a list of recent MMA results from the PacNW and beyond, as well as upcoming MMA events taking place in Oregon and southern Washington – So get out there and support your local MMA!
