New York (January 16, 2014) – Lou Neglia’s Ring of Combat (ROC) has a rich history of finding great but unknown talent from coast to coast and matching them up evenly to test and develop skills that will enable them to compete at the highest level of MMA. On January 24th at the Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, three of the most famous ROC alumni will attend Ring of Combat 47 to support the ROC fighters who are coming up through the same organization as they did.
Former UFC Champions Frankie Edgar and Matt Serra along with current UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman are set to attend Ring of Combat 47. “We have three of the greatest ROC alumni that will be at the show to offer support for the fighters and for the organization where they came from,” said Lou Neglia, Ring of Combat President. “Serra, Edgar and Weidman are great champions and good for the sport of MMA and great role models for the up and coming fighters. They are all giving Ring of Combat a great name inside the octagon,” he continued.
ROC 47 features an explosive fight card that includes five title fights with the next generation of MMA fighters. All titles on the line were held by ROC alumni that now compete in the UFC. “This is a tremendous fight card that is filled with talent from top to bottom,” said Lou Neglia. “There are five title fights between guys who have the skills to compete with anyone. They are all the next in line to join the ranks of the UFC and other top promotions,” continued Lou.
