Heavyweight knockout artists collide in main event at “UVC 26: Uprising”

COLUMBUS, OH – Two of MMA’s top heavyweight prospects will be in action on November 23, as a pair of young knockout artists are set to collide in the main event at UVC 26: Uprising.


Former UVC amateur heavyweight champion Tim “Fatboy” Dunn (1-1 / fighting out of Portsmouth, OH) will face his toughest test to date when he welcomes Justin Woods (3-0 / fighting out of Leo, IN) to the UVC cage for the first time. Two of the sport’s non-traditional heavyweights, Dunn stands 5’9” and weighs 260 pounds, while Woods is 5’9”, 245 pounds.


With a 12-3 overall record, Dunn has finished 11 of his wins with strikes, including a beautiful first round knockoutover James Dishong in his pro debut at UVC 22 earlier this year. A former high school football player and wrestler, Woods is 8-0 overall and has finished six of his fights with strikes, including three first round knockouts as a pro. Most notably, he finished Rick Day in just 10 seconds in September 2012.


In the co-main event, former UVC amateur welterweight champion William Max Scoby (2-0 / fighting out of Dayton, OH) is set to take on Stephen Singleton (1-3 / fighting out of Cincinnati, OH) in a catchweight clash at 160 pounds. With a 12-2 record overall, Scoby looks to extend his unbeaten streak to five and also pick up his third professional win via submission. A veteran of 13 fights overall with a combined 9-4 record, Singleton was ranked as the No. 1 amateur lightweight in Ohio earlier this year before turning pro, and also holds a victory over current UVC lightweight champion Ben Cook.
