Legend 11 focuses a billion pairs of eyes on Malaysia
Local fighters Muhammad Hanif and Sam Chan to make their Legend Fighting Championship Malaysian debut in front of a global audience from over 150 countries

International MMA (mixed martial arts) tournament Legend Fighting Championship has announced that syndication of the tournament is set to have a global reach of over 150 countries when Legend 11 takes place on the 27thApril, 2013.  Malaysia’s Muhammad Hanif and Sam Chan will have the eyes of the world as well as the Malaysian partisan crowd on them for their fights at Chin Woo Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

Sam Chan and Muhammad Hanif’s martial arts roots are typical for Malaysians: with limited exposure to MMA in their childhoods, both came from specialized martial arts backgrounds.  Chan’s journey has been from Muay Thai to MMA, whereas Hanif spent his childhood practicing Tae Kwon Do.

An issue that many MMA fans had in the past was the lack of academies teaching MMA in Malaysia at the time. Muhammad Hanif was no exception and initially learned the sport through YouTube instructional videos and practiced the techniques with a small group of MMA enthusiasts.

“As a Legend fighter, being able to fight in my home town is a dream come true for me,” explained Hanif. “Although MMA is quickly growing in Malaysia, it is still early days for the sport.  Most of all, I want to be an ambassador for Malaysian MMA at Legend 11, and will be ready and waiting to put on a great show for the local MMA fans.”

Featuring alongside the Malaysian contingent, in the main event, Legend Lightweight Champion, Jadamba Narantungalag from Mongolia will look to defend his title against Japan’s Koji “The Commander” Ando and his devastating grappling and ground-and-pound game.

Legend 11 will also feature two co-main events: the Legend Bantamweight Title will be on the line for China’s Ji Xian “The Executioner” and Filipino knock-out artist Agustin “Tamasak” Delarmino, whilst in the second co-main event, China’s top Welterweight Li “Leech” Jingliang, looks to re-ignite his title hopes against Luke Jumeau, the well rounded fighter from New Zealand who is equally dangerous on his feet and on the ground.
