Is KJ Noons a true champion? We are going to found out at precisely 8pm ET tomorrow. After finally getting fed up with Noons and his camp not responding to their attempts at contacting the fighter, EliteXC has distributed fight agreements and issued a 24-hour deadline for KJ to accept a fight with the #1 contender Nick Diaz on October 4th on CBS. |

While EliteXC VP Jared Shaw hinted at the fact that Noons could be avoiding EliteXC’s attempts to contact because he is dissatisfied with his pay contract, I prefer to believe that KJ is simply afraid of losing his lightweight strap against the much more experienced and qualified Nick Diaz. EliteXC shared their frustrations earlier today with MMAJunkie.com.
Nick Diaz has gone two for two in his last two EliteXC bouts and is next in line for the coveted title. In the past, Noons has stated that Diaz doesn’t deserve a rematch because of how hastily he dispatched of the UFC veteran in their first fight. Diaz predicted that the only way he would lose to Noons in that first fight was due to a cut and that is exactly how the fight panned out. The championship fight was stopped after one round due to cuts. On Inside MMA, KJ attempted to trash talk Diaz, claiming that he would paint another masterpiece on Nick Diaz’s face.
So everything is set. Noons has an opportunity to paint his masterpiece on Network television in front of millions of fans. He has less than 24 hours to except the fight or face public opinion. Will Noons come through or avoid the rematch that could send him right back down the lightweight ladder? KJ Noons vs Nick Diaz Outcome: Predictions: |

i like KJ. his style is fun to watch.
i was really hoping his fight against Yves Edwards had lasted longer.
i don’t see why he’s not taking this fight right away, it’s national TV! what is he thinking? this is a huge opportunity.
EliteXC may not be around forever, get your ass on TV kicking somebody else’s ass while you can.
