Jamie “The Ghost” Toney returning close to home for co-main event fight at SFC 17 “The Homecoming”
Ashland, KY – Jamie Toney is no stranger to the cage. He began his fighting career before MMA was considered cool. The Huntington native has been in 22 professional fights but hasn’t fought remotely close to his hometown since 2007. A winner in three of his last four fights, Toney has been seen on AXS Tv (formerly HDNet) fighting for Maximum Fighting Championships in Canada, he has been the star of a Shinedown music video and all the while keeping his training up at Bas Rutten’s Elite MMA Gym in California.
Toney is a submission machine. Winning seven of his bouts by way of submission and six by way of referee stoppage you are almost guaranteed to see an exciting fight if Jamie is in it. He is relentless with his pace in a fight and has a natural instinct to find an opponents weakness and exploit it.
Jamie will return to the area to be a part of Spartan Fighting Championship 17 “The Homecoming”. Toney was in attendance at SFC 13 back in April and talked with SFC owner Terry Callihan about a possibility of a fight. Now that possibility has become a reality. Although an opponent has not been officially announced, the buzz around the tri-state area focuses on Toney and his return.
Toney has said “I can’t wait to come home and fight for Spartan Fighting Championship. Terry Callihan and company have do great things and run a great promotion. It will be great to fight in front of friends and family that don’t normally get to see me fight live.”
Toney will meet XFC veteran and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Nicolae “The Armor” Cury. Curry headlined XFC 19 that aired live on AXS TV. A member of the Blackzillians, Cury trains with some of the elite in the sport. As a co-main event this fight could headline many televised cards throughout the country.
Headlined by SFC bantamweight champion Cornelius Godfrey, Toney takes center stage in the co-main event in an event that will breathe excitement and life back into the National Guard Armory on January 26th. Tickets are available online athttp://holdmyticket.com/event/
Jamie is available for interviews upon request. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for media contacts. If you are interested in sponsoring Toney for this fight you can also email us and we can get you in contact with him.
