Flyweight Title on the line at Shinobi War 4
Shinobi MMA Fighting Championships is delighted to announce that the Shinobi MMA FC Flyweight Title will be on the line at Shinobi War 4, as John Shink looks to defend his crown against rising star, Connor Hitchens. Shink (5-0) turned in arguably the performance of the night at Shinobi War 3 when he bested Dominic Wooding over 5 rounds, surviving an early onslaught from Wooding that almost had him out on his feet.
The Morefire MMA fighter managed to regain his composure and dominate the remainder of the fight, taking a unanimous decision victory and with it the Shinobi MMA FC Flyweight Title. Hitchens is currently 4-0 and fights out of Reps MMA under the guidance of Ste Nightingale.
Despite being only 18 years old Hitchens has never been one to shy away from tough fights. In his last bout he took a huge step up in class and fought Dominic Wooding for the BCMMA Flyweight Title. Similarly to Shink, Hitchens came out on top with a unanimous decision victory.
Now the stage is set for arguably the two best amateur flyweights in the country to battle it out in a “Champion vs Champion” encounter at the next Shinobi War. Shinobi War 4 will also see the return of Shinobi veteran, Jay Moogan (1-1). Local fighter Moogan, was last seen on Shinobi War 2 where he lost to Rob Zabitis via a triangle. Since that defeat Moogan has changed camps and now fights out of the relatively new Liverpool Vale Tudo.
Moogan will face James Doolan (1-1). Doolan fights out of Supremacy Fight Academy and was last in action at ICE FC 4 in November, where he lost via a guillotine. The former welterweight will be hoping for better fortune as he makes the drop to 70kg for his Shinobi debut. Shinobi War 4 will take place on Saturday 7th March 2015 at the Liverpool Olympia. Tickets start from just £25 and are available from HERE.
