EliteXC Cancels Sept. 20 Event in New Mexico

According to EliteXC broadcaster Mauro Ranallo, EliteXC has pulled the plug on their September 20th event which was scheduled to take place at "The Pit" in Albuquerque, NM.

Ranallo reported the cancellation on Thursday. New Mexico’s own Joey Villasenor was expected to head the card which included a recently announced bout between Bao Quach and Wilson Reis for EliteXC’s very first 140lb championship belt.

Also slated for the organization’s New Mexican debut was a female showdown between Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos and Yoko Takahashi at 140lbs. Santos shook up the Arena at EliteXC’s "Unfinished Business" show with a stunning TKO victory over Shayna Baszler.

It appears that some or all of the bouts scheduled for the Sept. 20 card may instead end up on Primetime Network TV when EliteXC kicks off it’s third edition of "Saturday Night Fights" on October 4th.
