For the second time the highly anticipated match up between welterweights Drew Fickett and Jake Shields has been cancelled.

Fickett was forced to withdrawal from EliteXC’s "Return of the King" scheduled for June 14 after sustaining a knee injury reports ProElite.com. Shields and "The Master" were going to battle for the first ever EliteXC 170lb championship belt which will now remain vacant for an undeterminable length of time.

While it is unknown whether a new opponent will be announced for Shields, Gary Shaw, President of EliteXC, did state that the title bout with Fickett will be rescheduled once again.

This isn’t the first time the two Jiu-Jitsu stand outs were suppose to meet inside the cage. Fickett and Shields were originally scheduled to face off at the StrikeForce "Shamrock vs Le" event back in March. The fight was postponed after Jake suffered a back injury less than a week before the fight.

Drew Fickett ended up fighting Jae Suk Lim after Shields pulled out and defeated Lim in dominating fashion with a first round guillotine choke. Fickett, who was a bit over the top in his post fight interview, predicted the June 14 fight with Shields would end by "death from rear naked choke".

The main event for EliteXC’s June 14 event will feature a lightweight title bout between KJ Noons and Yves Edwards. Also announced previously is a match between Nick Diaz and Muhsin Corbbrey.

In addition to the main event and Diaz vs Corbbrey bout, three more match ups have been announced for the card. "Ninja" Rua will return to EliteXC after six months away to battle Tony "The Gun" Bonello who has an amazing 16-0-1 record, finishing 14 of his fights via submission.

The second new addition to the card will pit Dave "Peewee" Herman up against Ron "H2O" Waterman. Peewee looked extremely impressive in his EliteXC debut back in February where he dished out a huge beating to Mario "Big Hurt" Rinaldi with a major assault of brutal knees and punches.

The last match announced is Rafael Feijao taking on Wayne Cole who both looked impressive in their last showings. Feijao is 5-1 defeating John Doyle with a knee to the body in his EliteXC debut back in February. 11-6 Wayne Cole recently defeated Mike Kyle with a 45 second armbar at the March 29 StrikeForce event.
