Dana’s Playing Games Again

Dana WhiteDana White is at it again. It was shocking and sad to hear that the UFC had sent Fitch out the door with his walking papers. What was almost as bad was hearing that Fitch gave in and signed the video game agreement. I could be speaking out of turn because I don’t the details of that contract but it didn’t sound like one I’d want to sign. As much as I’d hate to see him go, it would be nice to see someone stand up to Dana and the UFC. There have been plenty of people that haven’t bit their tongue when it comes to Dana White and the UFC but this would have been different. Fitch is a big star winning 15 fights in a row and 8 straight in the UFC before what may be the fight of the year against GSP.  Some things never change though, it’s Dana’s way or no way. Dana White has to stop being so bull-headed and start being a professional. The Fertitta brothers have got to be getting tired of these childish games always getting in the way. All the back and forth and constant drama makes the UFC look like the WWE.  Dana always talks about being a real professional sport and organization with some of the best athletes in the world.  I believe it, does the normal guy/gal who hasn’t been watching MMA for years believe it?  Just like NFL Live, NBA Fastbreak, and Baseball Tonight, ESPN has the same kind of show for MMA called MMA Live.  You’ve probably never seen it unless you watch your T.V. programs on the internet.  ESPN only aires MMA Live on the internet and will continue to do so until these MMA organizations start acting like organizations and not fight clubs.  Until then, MMA Live will continue to get passed up for Big Game Fishing the World, Offshore Adventures, Whitetail Hunting, Realtree Outdoor, World Series of Poker, Drag Racing - get the point?

You’re the president of a quarter BILLION dollar company Dana?  You talk about how smart and professional you are?  Let’s compare the quotes of Dana White, the President of the UFC and one of those so-called senseless backyard brawlers who fight because they’re too dumb to do anything else (in this case, that dumb guy graduated from Purdue).

Dana White:  “We’re looking for guys who want to work with us and not against us, and frankly I’m just so [expletive] sick of this [expletive] it’s not even funny,” said UFC President Dana White to Yahoo! Sports. “Affliction is still out there trying to build its company. Let [Fitch] go work with them. Let him see what he thinks of those [expletives]. [Expletive] him. These guys aren’t partners with us. [Expletive] them. All of them, every last [expletive] one of them.”

Jon Fitch:  “Communication kind of broke down with Dana (White) so we talked with Lorenzo,” Fitch told MMA Rated. “(I) just got off the phone with him and we came to an agreement. We’re going to move ahead and I’ll be back in the UFC. We’re going to sign off on the video game and I’m back. It was never even about the agreement or the contract. It was the approach that we felt Dana was being a little bit hot-headed and was threatening us right off the bat. It didn’t seem like a professional way of doing things.”

Dana White hot-headed and threatening?  No way!
