AM Ford Fight Night : Redemption 2011 was a fantastic event. Action packed from start to finish!
Play by Play
Both fighters come out trading punches early on.Gill immediately imposes his considerable height and reach advantage upon Ready, with leg kicks and accurate combinations.Ready is game. He weathers early punishment and responds with a solid right hand and shots to the mid-section of Gill. Gill pushes the pace and controls the better part of the round. (MMAMadhouse – Gill)
Round 2
Sukh Gill opens the round by landing several punches to the face of Ready. Gill continues to dictate the pace of the fight, using his reach to land his jab at will against his willing opponent. Ready is absorbing some abuse and begins to bleed heavily from the nose toward the end of the second round.
(MMAMadhouse – Gill)
Round 3
The third round begins with much of the same. Gill continues to punish Ready in the stand-up battle. The fight moves to the cage and into the clinch where Gill lands several brutal knees to the head and torso of Curtis Ready. Ready is leaking heavily as the fight reaches its conclusion.
(MMAMadhouse – Gill)
Result: Sukh Gill of Calgary, Ab. Wins by unanimous decision.

Chris Leuning vs.Noah Ali
Round 1
Right out of the gate Ali lands a big right hand and scores an early take down.Ali works some shots to the body of Leuning but is unable to cause any heavy damage. The fight is brought back to the feet by the referee and Leuning immediately eats a solid left hook that seems to daze him.Ali throws wildly and catches Leuning again with a shot that knocks the hometown fighter to the mat. From the top, this time around, Ali starts to land and Leuning starts to bleed. As Ali is raining down ground and pound, Leuning makes a slick sweep and is able to return to his feet: only to eat a another flurry of punches. Ali secures another take down and lands some rather tired looking punches from top position. The ref bores of this and stands the fighters up. Leuning gets pummelled a bit more as the round draws to an end, with Ali taking the fight back to the mat and gaining a full-mount. Punches and bleeding ensue. (MMAMadhouse – Ali)
Round 2
Ali starts the round throwing a lot of strikes but landing rather few. Leuning begins to press the action in the second round, stalking Ali for the exchange and eventually taking the Calgary fighter to the mat. Leuning is able to land a few shots but returns to his feet and can’t penetrate Ali’s guard. Noah spends a great deal of round two on his back. Eventually, however, Chris does penetrate, secures side control and begins to employ devastating ground and pound. From there,Chris Leuning climbs into a full mount and absolutely abuses Noah Ali. The referee lets the beating carry on for a short time and correctly steps in to stop the fight. Awesome display of resilience and heart.

Billy Cameron vs. Ian Ouland

Round 1
Fighters come out swinging. Within 30 seconds of this fight, Billy Cameron secures a deep sunk standing guillotine which he uses to pull his opponent to the ground. Body triangle locked and Ian Ouland swats, but he’s finished. He taps out soon after.
Result: Billy Cameron of Trail, B.C wins by submission (guillotine) 1:20 of Round 1
Sandy Bagg vs. Scott Hebert
Round 1
Scott Hebert charges out of his corner for the start of this fight and falls quickly into the standing McKenzie-tine of Sandy Bagg. Sandy pulls guard with the choke locked in and unfortunately, Scott Hebert doesn’t tap soon enough. The referee stops the fight because the unconscious Hebert cannot.
Result: Sandy Bagg of Trail, B.C wins by submission (McKenzie-tine) 1:00 of Round 1
Chelsea Bronaugh vs. Allison Clarkson
Round 1
The first round begins and continues with Allison and Chelsea standing in the middle of the ring and teeing off on each other for most of the two minute round. Allison has the edge on leg kicks but may have eaten more punches in the mouth. (MMAMadhouse – Bronaugh)
Round 2
Chelsea is pushing the action, throwing the heavier of the punches and landing on a more regular basis, but Allison stays in the thick of it and manages to counter often and keep the fight moving both ways. Chelsea finishes the round strong with good control of the ring and continued pressure on Clarkson.
MMAMadhouse – Bronaugh
Round 3
Chelsea continues to find a home for her right hand on the chin of Clarkson. Allison throws some flurries into the mix and attempts on occasion to punch her way out of trouble, but is overpowered by the tenacity and relentless pressure of Chelsea Bronaugh. (MMAMadhouse – Bronaugh)
Result: Chelsea Bronaugh of Nelson, B.C wins by unanimous decision
Nathan Jorhe vs. Jeff Blackmore
Round 1
Jorhe comes out fast, landing a leg kick and a right hand to the jaw of Blackmore. Jorhe pulls the fight to the ground and attempts to lock in an arm-in guillotine. Blackmore eludes, sweeps and returns to his feet.Blackmore scores a heavy hitting take down of Jorhe and begins to throw punches from top position. This fight is moving along with Jorhe on the bottom sustaining damage, when all of a sudden, and I mean snap-your-freaking- fingers fast, Jorhe locks in a triangle choke and Blackmore taps. Unbelievable display of grappling.
Result: Nathan Jorhe of Trail, B.C wins by submission (triangle) 1:34 of Round 1
Sheldon Doll vs. Callum Ross
Round 1
The fighters come out hard, trading punches early. Ross attempts a couple of hard, high kicks. Doll connects with a solid right hand and Ross goes to the mat. Ross manages to scramble to his feet, only to eat several punches in the mouth. Ross scores an impressive take down. The fighters meet in the center of the ring and trade leg kicks before Doll finds his range and begins to place his right hand on Ross repeatedly and violently. With Ross knocked to the canvas, Doll takes the full-mount and forces the referee to step in and stop the fight.
Result: Sheldon Doll of Cranbrook, B.C wins by TKO (strikes) at 1:50 of Round 1
Ronny Forry vs. PeterNeufeld
Round 1
Fighters start the first round tentatively, looking for range. Neufeld exhibits good footwork and head movement. Forry attempts a take down. Neufeld begins to push the momentum of the fight and starts landing power punches.A flurry of right hands and knees to the head have Forry hurt. Neufeld doesn’t go untouched but he controls the stand-up with his good boxing skills and picks Ronny Forry apart. The referee stops the fight and declares Peter Neufeld the winner.
Result: Peter Neufeld of Lethbridge, Alta.
CJ Bagg vs. Steve Gilkes
Round 1
Gilkes charges out of his corner and scores an immediate take down, however it is Bagg who quickly takes top control and lands several strikes and attempts a choke. Gilkes reverses the position and takes top position where he begins to land shots to the head and body of Bagg. CJ spends most of the round on his back but does well to sustain minimal damage in doing so. Right up until the point where he traps Gilkes in his guard, and secures a brilliant triangle choke. Gilkes taps.
Result: CJ Bagg of Trail, B.C wins by submission at 4:10 of Round 1
River Jones vs. Cheryl Chan
Round 1
Chan dazzles early with several spinning kicks and punches that look quite impressive but fail to impact the fight much.River scores a take down and begins to soften up the body of Chan. River is raining down punches on her opponent and the fight is stood up! Anyway, River pushes this fight using her size and strength advantage landing power punches and trying take downs. Chan takes River to the mat and River secures a full mount. She unleashes heck on Chan and the referee is forced to step in.
Result:River Jones of Trail, B.C wins by TKO (strikes) at 4:52 of Round 1
Jordan Knippelberg vs. Curtis Blackmore
Round 1
Blackmore starts out fast, landing heavy shots early. Knippelberg flips the momentum and lands a solid left hand and a big knee to the body. And a solid right. Then more knees. The fighters lock up in the clinch, engage in some dirty boxing and the referee separates them. Knippelberg scores a take down and lands several shots from top position. Blackmore starts to leak. Knippelberg lands big elbows and works the body of Blackmore. (MMAMadhouse – Knippelberg)
Round 2
Knippelberg starts the second round where he finished the first, with solid jabs and power punches. Mid-round, the fighters are are winded and the pace slows. A tired Blackmore attempts to take the fight to the mat at the closing of the second round. Knippelberg is still in control of the fight but landing less frequently. (MMAMadhouse – Knippelberg)
Round 3
Knippelberg lands a hard leg kick. The local fighter is displaying patience, choosing his strikes and landing them.In the third round Knippelberg is showing solid boxing skill and sustaining very little damage. Blackmore is really starting to leak. Knippelberg scores a take down and chucks some bombs from the top. One last burst of energy shows a measure of heart in the Cranbrook fighter; bloodied but not deterred.
Result: Jordan Knippelberg of Trail, B.C wins by unanimous decision
Wesley “snipes” Neil vs. Mark Aparicio
Round 1
Neil opens the round with a big right hand and a successful take down, where he quickly slides into a full mount. Neil tries for a submission from the top but can’t lock anything up. Back on the feet, Aparicio lands a couple of brutal right hands and an elbow that opens Neil up. Neil catches Aparicia with a surprising left hook and follows with a combination. Aparicio finishes the round by securing a take down and punishing the Trail fighter with sharp ground and pound. (MMAMadhouse – Aparicio)
Round 2
Aparicio lands an impressive spinning back elbow and Neil takes the fight to the ground where he looks for a choke and for an arm-bar unsuccessfully. Aparicio gets back to his feet and throws Neil down with an aggressive body slam of a take down. As the round draws to a close, Neil lands some good shots and keeps this fight in reach. (MMAMadhouse – Neil)
Round 3
Wesley Neil comes out firing in the third round and lands some big lefts and rights before taking his opponent to the mat. Once there, he gets into a full mount and begins to pummel Aparicio for a few moments. When the fight returns to the feet, it is Neil who is chasing Aparicio for the action. At the late stages of the fight Aparicio is looking the fresher of the two fighters and certainly the less bloody of the two. Aparicio lands a take down near the end of round three followed by some ground and pound; and in doing so may have decided a close fight. (MMAMadhouse – Aparicio)
Del Melnyk vs. Stephan Frictra
Round 1
Frictra imposes his distinct size and reach advantage early on, landing several low kicks and jabs on Melnyk. The kicks to the legs and body of Melnyk continue and Melnyk seems to have very little to counter with. More damage f5rom Frictra until Melnyk finally shows up and lands a heavy right hand. Frictra is dictating the pace of the fight and stalks Melnyk around the ring until a scuffle ensues, the fight goes to ground, and Frictra wraps up the neck of Melnyk to seal the deal.
